Terms of Service
Last updated: June 15, 2026 · Operated by The Aisle Events LLC
By creating an account and using Tend Money, you’re agreeing to these terms. They cover how the service works, what we promise, what we don’t, and what happens if things go wrong.
If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
1. What Tend Money is
Tend Money is an SMS alert service for married couples. You connect a bank account, set spending limits by category, and both partners receive a text message every time a transaction posts that touches one of those categories.
Tend Money is a notification tool. It is not a bank, a financial advisor, a budgeting guarantee, or a substitute for talking to your spouse about money. The alerts are informational. What you do with them is up to you.
2. Subscription and billing
- Price: $7 per month per household account.
- Free trial: Your first 14 days are free. No charge until the trial ends. You can cancel during the trial and pay nothing.
- Billing cycle: Monthly, starting from the day your trial ends. Charged automatically to the card on file.
- Cancel anytime: Go to your account dashboard and cancel. Access continues through the end of the billing period you already paid for. No refunds for partial months.
- Failed payments: If your payment fails, we’ll retry and notify you by email. If it stays unpaid, we’ll pause your alerts until billing is resolved.
Prices may change in the future. If they do, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email before your next billing date.
3. Your responsibilities
To get the service to work, you need to:
- Provide accurate phone numbers for both partners. If a number is wrong, alerts won’t reach the right person and that’s on you, not us.
- Connect a bank account you have legal access to. Don’t connect someone else’s account without authorization.
- Keep your subscription active. Alerts pause when billing lapses.
- Update your phone numbers in the dashboard if they change.
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.
You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your subscription based on where you live.
4. Bank connection via Plaid
We connect to your bank using Plaid. When you go through the Plaid flow, you’re also entering into an agreement with Plaid under their own End User Terms of Service. Plaid’s terms govern the bank connection itself. Our terms govern what we do with the data Plaid gives us.
If Plaid changes or discontinues their service, we may not be able to maintain bank connections. We’ll notify you and, if necessary, work to find an alternative.
5. SMS alerts
By providing a phone number, you consent to receive SMS messages from Tend Money at that number. Message frequency depends on how often transactions occur in your connected account.
Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply. We are not responsible for carrier fees. To stop receiving texts, you can remove your phone number from your account dashboard or cancel your subscription.
Alerts may occasionally be delayed by carrier issues, Twilio outages, or bank processing delays. We are not liable for missed or delayed alerts.
6. Limitation of liability
Tend Money sends alerts. It does not prevent overdrafts, stop purchases, or guarantee that any spending limit will be enforced. The service is informational only.
We are not responsible for:
- Financial decisions you make based on our alerts
- Overdraft fees, late fees, or other bank charges
- Missed or delayed alerts due to carrier, Plaid, or Twilio issues
- Inaccurate transaction categorization by your bank or Plaid
- Losses resulting from unauthorized access to your account
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to this service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
The service is provided “as is.” We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
7. Account termination
You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard. This cancels your subscription and disconnects your bank.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or engage in fraudulent activity. If we terminate your account for a policy violation, we won’t issue a refund. If we terminate for our own reasons unrelated to your conduct, we’ll refund any unused days in your current billing period.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama. Any disputes will be handled in the courts of Calhoun County, Alabama, and you agree to that jurisdiction.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll email you at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date means you accept the new terms. If you don’t agree, cancel before the effective date.
